No, not PowerShell.
I have been having fun measuring how much electricity our house uses, and which appliances are the worst offenders (Oil column heaters = bad, heat pump = good).
The tool I have been using is a Centameter, which is a clever little gadget that you clip onto your mains feed into your house (www.centameter.co.nz). You can also get one for a single power point from Jaycar.
A good idea if you want to reduce the impact your consumption has on the world (and your wallet!)

Kirk, don't you find that a heat pump is all hype? The ones I've been subjected to have all been on a wall, near the ceiling. They blast the "warm" air down, but it promptly rises again, so that the net effect for people sitting on a couch near the opposite wall is a cold breeze.

Well our one works well, and according to the centameter uses much less electricity than the heater in our bedroom did, and the room is a lot warmer :)

It used to work pretty poorly until I cleaned the filters, maybe that is the issue?
